Winter in the Barns

Hey everyone!
It's chilly outside but that still hasn't stopped me from going out to Mountain View Rescue! I groom just as much as always, but the daylight has gone out too early. I hate grooming in the dark even though we do have lights. I made a flyer on trying to collect empty ink cartridges and old cell phones, so hopefully that will help us a lot. Also we auctioned off a bunch of stuff on eBay and that helped us. So all is still going well for the rescue and hopefully it'll continue that way!

Viva Las Elvis!

Yes, it was Halloween weekend, but I got my first taste at CCK! It was down syndrome week and it was the most amazing experience I have ever had! This was my first weekend there and I am so ready to go back again! I go back on the 21st-23rd and it's Severe allergy weekend. I am so pumped up for that weekend. I will so write about that weekend too!

Where There's A Will, There's A Way

Hey Everyone!
It has been way too long, but I have great updates. Miss Lily has overcome her fear of being tied to cross-ties. She used to be scared to death of cross-ties, but now she will let us groom her without flipping out. She also has improved on her training. Raquel has been able to get on her and she doesn't act all scared. I have been glad to see her improvements!
Booker T still loves me to death. I spoil him silly!
We had a fundraiser as a ride for a cause, but due to the cold weather, not many showed up. But we are still determined to succeed in our fundraisers.
The days have been shorter so we tend to groom the horses and muck out stalls.
That's it for my bonner site.

Cool Fall Days

Hey Everyone!
Wow, it has been a while since I wrote any messages. Well, I'm pretty much doing the same things out at Raquel's. Just now it has been getting a lot cooler! Yuck, I hate cold weather. So now I have to go get me a thick winter jacket and some coveralls. Won't I look cute? I have been getting a lot of the chores down around the barn a lot earlier, so we can go home early, but I get my hours in. I have my own little horse there. Well, he's not little 'cuz he's a Thoroughbred and an ex-racer, but he's in love with me. I'm the only one who can touch his head and get the burrs out of his forelock. Raquel's jealous, but she's happy he's loving someone! Oh, his name is Booker T.
So this weekend is CCK and I am soooo excited to be helping and working with kids with Down Syndrome. I can't wait!
That's it for now. I hope you all enjoyed reading this blog!

Bonner Reflection on Election

This was a fun little quiz that I took. I am voting for McCain and that's what my quiz said who I was voting for. How weird is that?

Bonner Reflection

What cause am I most passionate about? I am most passionate about bringing God back into the United States.
How important is this issue in your choice to support a particular presidential candidate? It is very important to me because this country was once a strong nation in God, and now it seems like it has slidden God away from us. I want a president who will help bring God back, so I am lookinh for this in the candidates. So far, I'm going for McCain. Hopefully he won't prove me wrong!

Loving Horses!

I have always loved horses, and the past few weeks at Mountain View Rescue has definitely been weeks of fun. Even picking up manure is fun! Who would've thought? I have horses of my own and I work with racing thoroughbreds, but this still is fun. I don't get tired of being around horses, so I guess I am a genuine horse lover! That's it for now. I am looking forward to this week's activities!

The End of Another Week

This week has been a fun week at MVR. I got to groom, throw down hay from the hayloft, feed, and clean tack. Even picking manure was fun until Galahad ended knocking over the wheel barrel because he had to be a nosy colt! But yesterday was a longer day because there was LOTS of tack to clean. This is exciting because it means I'll get to ride soon! I am really excited to get on Scarecrow and Booker T. They are huge Thoroughbreds but that's what makes it more fun! Well, that's it. Have a great weekend!

Burrs, Burrs, and More Burrs!

This week has started out wonderful! I groomed 3 of the 8 horses and had the pleasure of pulling out burrs. One of the babies had them all up in his tail, but he stood still for me! But all the horses are starting to get to know me, and my favorites would have to be Scarecrow and Lilly. They each have had a rough life, especially Lilly. But they are fine now and they enjoy soaking in the attention! I love working with horses! Also, we are trying to collect empty ink cartridges that have ink heads. If you want to help, let me know. We would love the donations! Well, I guess that's it for today!

My First Work Week at Mountain View Rescue

This week I started my volunteer service at Mountain View Rescue. It was a great week. I got to groom horses, and boy are they beautiful horses! Morgan and I also helped her feed the horses and clean out the water buckets/troughs, as well as rake up the barn aisle. It was pretty fun. I love horses and Raquel is doing exactly what I want to do: rescue horses, except I want to incorporate children who are disabled or have been abused/neglected and work them with these types of horses, showing the children how they're not alone in this world. I pray to God that He will allow to to fulfill these dream! That's all for tonight!
